Members & Candidates

Thank you to everyone who made the trip down to Lincoln for our meeting with BKD. I hope everyone enjoyed the presentation and learned a little more about BKD.

What's Happening This Week

This week our meeting is with Becker. The rep from Becker will be going over the CPA exam changes for 2011 and it will be a great time to ask any questions you have about the CPA exam or the review course that Becker offers. We also be making some changes to our handbook at the beginning of the meeting. The meeting will start at 6pm in the auditorium and the dress code will be business casual.

Announcements
  • If you are planning on attending the banquet (candidates are required to attend in order to become members) you need to give your meal choice to Nick Jasa and $30 to Brittney Nichols by December 3rd. By providing a meal choice, you are confirming your attendance at the banquet.
  • There are only 2 tutoring sessions left! The remaining two tutoring sessions are this coming Sunday, November 21 from 2-4pm and December 5 from 2-4pm both in Mammel Hall room 122.
  • Don’t forget to turn your service hours into Devin as soon as possible. All members and candidates need to complete 6 volunteer hours, 2 of which need to be from a tutoring session.
  • The points list is updated for all members and candidates. Volunteer hours and tutoring hours are now listed in the last two columns. Members need to have 105 points and candidates need to have 115 points. There are only 4o available points left this semester.

Members & Candidates

Thank you to everyone who helped out at our volunteer night last week. If you weren’t able to attend, make sure you find another way to get your volunteer hours in before the semester is over.

What's Happening This Week

This week our meeting is with McGladery. The topic will be, “Succeeding in Public Accounting: the top ten ways to make yourself stand out.” The meeting will be in room 320 at 6pm and the dress is business casual.

Announcements
  • There are only 2 tutoring sessions left! Remember you need to complete 2 hours of tutoring to meet your community service hours. The remaining two tutoring sessions are November 21 from 2-4pm and December 5 from 2-4pm both in Mammel Hall room 122.
  • Don’t forget about the car pool signup sheet. Our meeting with BKD in Lincoln is two weeks away. There is a car pool sign up sheet for our November 11th meeting with BKD in Lincoln.
